Getting In the Garden

Here's progress so far... Not much cause life's been calling to me lately. It looks super messy right now, but the garden's getting there! ^_^

A month and a few days more before Easter! GO! GO! GO!

---------------------------------------------------

I'm stuck in Chapter 1 of Julian Clary's Devil In Disguise. I bought the book from a yard sale two weeks ago because besides what the owner was selling it for (it was a buck!), it looked brand new, it was hardbound (I'm a sucker for hardbound, the hubby knows), and the cover looked really nice. Yes, yes, I judged a book by its cover. :P I hope it gets better as I go lest I get stuck with my 3rd book (4th if my textbook from school counts.)

Mothers Know Best

I received this story from a very smart aunt. Enjoy ^_^
--------------------------------
Cup of Tea

One day my mother was out, and my dad was in charge of me.

I was maybe 2 1/2 years old. Someone had given me a little "tea set" as a gift, and it was one of my favorite toys.

Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought Daddy a little cup of "tea," which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my mom came home.

My dad
made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was "just the cutest thing!" My mom waited, and sure enough, here I came down the hall with a cup of tea for daddy; and she watched him drink it up.

Then she said, (as only a mother would know), "Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?"

Matthew 19:14

Jesus said,
"Let the little children come to me,
and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Boots & The Like

Mmmm... This is NOT good. I've (so far) bought myself 2 pairs of boots, plus sandals that look like boots, during the winter season. And here I am, online, looking at another pair. @_@ How do I stop buying boots?

But in all honesty... Aren't these the cutest things?!

And my other brown pair (not pictured) is seriously the comfiest pair of shoes I have ever owned - and they have heels! Now tell me how I could resist!

Snow Carving

Hooray for me! ^_^ I think I can finally carve, or at least seem like I'm not just skidding on the mountains :P So out of the three things I said I was going to do (so far) this year -

1. I will be more patient.
2. I will learn how to carve.

3. I will read 20 books.

I can now check one off! YEY! ^_^ I haven't perfected the technique, but I'm glad to be able to go down that steep hill and not chicken out with a break. YEYEYEY! ^_^

CookieBits got in new cards made especially for Valentine's Day. Have you seen them? :-) It's a little too late to place in orders in via First Class Post, but it isn't too late if you're willing to shell out a little more for Priority Post! It'll take only 2-3 days to get to you, enough time to pen in a sweet thought or two for your Valentine. Here's two:

Check out the rest at my shop! :-)

Featured @ Tilda in the Burbs

Oh dear, oh my. I hope everyone's having a blast of a day already! I know I am, thanks to tildaintheburbs. I seriously need to make more of these doggie cards since it seems everyone's a dog-lover these days. Makes me miss my dogs back home. Our household there used to have 5, 2 of which are "mine" - the Shih-Tzu and the Japanese Spitz followed me most! HEE!

Thank you, Karalee and Matilda the Bulldog, for the feature! It is much appreciated. ^_^

February Is Here!

Well, what can I say... It's the month of hearts! ^_^ Don't you guys feel like January just ended a tad bit too soon? We were probably having so much fun around here that it feels like January just zoomed passed our heads. Where did it go anyway? :P

So, this is probably a little late. But besides my other resolution of longer lasting patience, I am resolving to read at least 20 books this year. That's 1 down, 19 more to go. I can't believe I used to read 12 books in a day when I was much, much younger. Now, I simply don't have enough time to immerse myself as much. Now I have more projects to do, deals to make, chores to finish, and tests to study for. I still finished The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks in one sitting though. The husband still couldn't wrap his mind around my speed reading, but hey, it's a habit even my mom didn't like. (Just think how much she spent buying 12 books at a time, at least 4 times a month. My dad was more than willing to indulge li'l ol' me. TEEHEE^_^)

Anyway, here's Miracle Mile on Snow Summit the day we went snowboarding. I took the photo when my knees were shaking like mad and when my bums wanted to dunk themselves into soft snow:

And for the heck of it, here's the pack we had to literally *SWIM* through to get into our cabin:

What you see there is our snow-covered deck. It was man-deep!
